Unit 1

The world through the eyesight of prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

Chapter 1

The world through the eyesight of prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

Every time the worldly life is mentioned, especially by prophet Muhammad, many people expect that the next description shall be vilification/ dispraise; that life should be cursed and things like that, as is common in the tongue of narrators and those who claim asceticism (those who have claimed themselves to be ascetic) - ; to renounce the pleasure in worldly things - and that is far from the truth.

Prophet Muhammad sees life pretty/ pleasant , and these features of beauty are both material and moral.

As for the moral side, I started with it, it is an opportunity to get rewards and provisions for the eternal abode) hereafter).

Two brothers were mentioned to the Messenger of Allah

One of them was killed with the Messenger of Allah

and the other remained a year after that and then

he died in his bed.

He, who mentioned the brothers, thought the killed one was luckier, yet the Messenger of Allah

said: “How long did he live after (the one who died first)?` He said: “One year.” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)

said: “He offered eighteen hundred (extra) prayers and fasted Ramadan.`

Musnad: Ahmad 1389

This makes clear that one of the graces of God (Almighty and Majestic) for a slave is to prolong his life and improve his deeds.

Al-Bukhari narrates in his Sahih that Prophet Muhammad forbids us to long for death, he elaborates that life is an opportunity for the good doer to do more good deeds and for the evildoer ( the offender) to repent.

Not to mention the joy of students in increasing their exam time, the diligent person is delighted to review , the average to catch up, and the underachiever to think!

If life is an opportunity to provide, how can it be unpleasant?!

If the prophet forbade wishing to die, would not that indicate the desirability of life?

Allah ( the Exalted is He) reminds us that life is a blessing,

{ O you who have believed, remember the favor of Allāh upon you when a people determined to extend their hands [in aggression] against you, but He withheld their hands from you; and fear Allāh. And upon Allāh let the believers rely.} verse 11, Al-Mā’idah.

A man was about to kill prophet Muhammad but Allah saved him,

This salvation was Allah’s blessing to the whole Islamic nation; without Muhammad 's existence, our lives have no meaning or value,

His existence is enlightenment, knowledge, and life.

They do not really live those who live in ignorance, Savagery, and darkness of atheism / disbelief.

, If salvation from destruction is a blessing, and it also means life, then life is a blessing itself.

For that, it is necessary to investigate and to dismiss the false claims of those who curse the world and life day and night.

And as for the Pleasants of the materialistic side of life in the eyes of prophet Muhammad

, the sky might be pouring rains whereas your supplication being answered, so that you were given the good of this world and the Next."

Try to imagine yourself in this picture, the sky was raining around you but not over you, not because of Allah’s Almighty anger on you, yet His protection; Allah had quenched you, filled your wells, satisfied you, and saved your home, the moment rain became a threat.

Still The water pouring around you, your valley was flowing, the trees were watered, and you looked joyfully at the effects of God's mercy.

{ So observe the effects of the mercy of Allāh - how He gives life to the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed, that [same one] will give life to the dead, and He is over all things competent.} Verse 50, Ar-Rūm

Once again in Tabuk’s vast desert - in Ghazwat Tabuk- on a very hot summer day, with no single cloud in the sky / there was no trace of cloud in the sky, people asked prophet Muhammad, the last of the Apostles, to pray for rain, and so did he ﷺ.

A unique cloud, that had no like before, had shown, and it rained so that people had been watered and satisfied. / A miracle of prophet Muhammad and a response to his invocation / Thanks to Muhammadﷺ, the pre-eminent among the descendants of Adam.

Rain conveys glad tidings to people/ people are given glad tidings by rain, and this is pure joy /and this is happiness itself.

Glad of tidings and rejoicing are of our beloved Prophet Muhammad's

 ﷺ '

frequent vocabularies

He asked us to rejoice, and called for giving glad tidings, He

said:"Make things easy and do not make them difficult, cheer the people up by conveying glad tidings to them and do not repulse (them)."

Allah Almighty said: {Allâh is He Who sends the winds, so that they raise clouds, and spread them along the sky as He wills, and then break them into fragments, until you see rain drops come from their midst! Then when He has made them fall on whom of His slaves as He wills, lo, they rejoice!. (48) And verily before that (rain) - just before it was sent down upon them - they were in despair! (49) - Ar-Rūm
